OPEN LETTER TO
THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF
May 28, 2010
Dear Mr. President
Many letters and salutations are directed on this solemn
occasion to the brave men and women that have given of themselves and even their
lives that we might remain the greatest country in the world, The United States
of America. Traditionally, we gather at the hollowed grounds where our soldiers
rest and we pray and pay tribute to them for the many blessings that their
sacrifices bestowed upon us. We continue this fine tradition on this Memorial
Day weekend even though we know in our hearts that today's environment much like
the early years does not treat all citizens in the way that the United States
Constitution proclaims.
Mr. President, on this Memorial Day weekend and on behalf
of all who served and in honor of a great nation; receive and honor all who
serve or have served by recognizing the sacrifice of all soldiers including
Immigrants like Marine Sgt. Rafael Peralta who gave his life that his fellow
soldiers might live. Sgt. Rafael Peralta died heroically and has been thus far
denied the Medal of Honor as recommended. On this Memorial Day weekend show our
countrymen and the world that The United States of America is indeed "the
land of the free and the home of the brave".
