RESOLUTION

In the Spirit of “Veterans Helping Veterans”

WHEREAS, our children are participating as service members in the military activities of the United States of America, and;

WHEREAS, our service members, moreover our children, are losing life, limb and mental health in the process of protecting our country, and;

WHEREAS, equal to the loss experienced by the children is the loss experienced by the parents and family, and;

WHEREAS, the support services made available to service men, their parents and family may not be equally available to all victims of war, and;

WHEREAS, we are witnessing that our own members are reporting personal and tragic voids in the protocols and customs for delivery of services,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the American GI Forum create an organizational focus on the advocacy activity necessary to identify and correct the systemic problems and blind spots, which may exist both in governmental and community-based programs, which allow our members and our community statewide to be left to their own devices, without safe harbor and without the benefit of expertise, to suffer their losses and sacrifices without recourse,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the AGIF delegate to the correct committee, this issue for further investigation and further recommendation to the full body of the American GI Forum,

BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED that the American GI Forum include this issue under the “New Business” agenda today!
