VETERAN SERVICES



The American GI Forum of California has always been interested and involved in Veterans’ well being. The returning soldier and his/her adjustment to civilian life was at the forefront when the AGIF came into existence many years ago and continues to be a top concern for chapters across this state. To that end, AGIF Veterans Outreach efforts throughout California are geared to provide help and identify resources where the returning veteran can obtain the help needed. There are many agencies, organizations and local resources that a veteran can use to get help.
Veterans
Agencies like the Vet Centers, spread throughout the United States, were setup specifically to help the returning veteran with counseling and other services. The state’s Veterans Service Officers are there to assist the veterans with the processing of disability and other service related claims. The Veterans Administration is a complex and often difficult system to navigate, and that is where we can sometimes be the veteran’s best resource. Service organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans etc. are there to also provide guidance and assistance. We in the American GI Forum of California gladly guide veterans through all of these resources such that any veteran needing assistance will find the help that he and his family needs.
